Purpose and Vision

 

The focus of the Barksdale Family Trust (BFT) is research and development of renewable energy applications domestically in the United States with a focus on the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Southern California. We provide consulting, engineering and integration services in the development and deployment of solar power. We are a partner with the Engineering and Computer Science Department of UCSD to provide a hands-on practicum each quarter to the senior engineering students in this capstone class and provide job placement support upon graduation. We self-fund this R&D effort with income from various for-profit entities. The major source is our hospitality division, the Texan Resort, Lake City, CO.

 

Our trust currently is entering a “wind-down” mode and is offering a $2 million dollar donation to charity of your choice with the acquisition of the resort by a for-profit or non-profit entity (see Donation Opportunity).
